Join us for the ultimate Norwegian hiking challenge! Forget storybooks – in Norway, trolls are real, turned to stone in the sunlight, and we’re going to hike right up to their legendary landmarks!

Prepare for an unforgettable adventure tackling three of Norway’s most iconic and breathtaking rock formations: the dramatic overhang of Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), the mind-bending suspended boulder of Kjeragbolten, and the epic horizontal jut of Trolltunga (Troll’s Tongue).

Norway’s wilderness is a hiker’s paradise, a spectacular canvas of majestic mountains, deep fjords, and thundering waterfalls. Our journey will take you through diverse, stunning landscapes, pushing your limits and rewarding you with unparalleled views that will steal your breath.

Trip Details:

Start & End Date: Fri night, 4 July – Thu morning, 10 July.

Meeting location & time: Stavanger bus terminal on Thursday night @ 8 pm.

Finishing location & time: Odda bus station at 8am on Thursday, 10 July

Things of Note:

  1. You can arrive anytime on the meeting days, however just inform us so that we can make the relevant arrangement on our end.
    Hiking Distance:

    • Day 0 (No hiking involved): Travel to Stavanger
    • Day 1: 12 km – Hiking Kjeragbolten (5 – 6 hours) with ascent & descent of 1000m.
    • Day 2: 15km – Hike to Preikestolen, also known as Pulpit tock (4 – 5 hours) with ascent & descent of 500m.
    • Day 3 : <5km – Discovering Odda including various waterfalls
    • Day 4: 25km – Trolltunga Hike (7 – 9 hours) with ascent & descent of 500m.
    • Day 5: 10 km – Buarbreen Glacier Hike
    • Day 6: <5km – Head back home via Bergen airport and for those participants staying over, head over to Bergen with option to explore Bergen

    Hiking Difficulty: :Intermediate to Hard – Hiking long distance but at moderate pace with multiple break times on steep paths and stairs, moderate elevation, sure-footedness & good fitness is required.

  • Lysefjord Scenic Cruise: Cruise through Lysefjord’s dramatic cliffs, waterfalls, and islands, including Vagabond’s Cave and Preikestolen, with close encounters at Hengjanefossen waterfall—expect refreshing sprays!
  • Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock): An awe-inspiring flat-topped cliff towering over Lysefjord, formed by ancient frost erosion, offering dramatic panoramic views and attracting visitors worldwide.
  • Hiking Trail to Preikestolen: Iconic 4-hour round-trip hike over bridges, stairs, and lakes, leading to breathtaking Lysefjord views from the famous Preikestolen plateau.
  • Kjeragbolten: A boulder wedged in mountain cliffs, offering Norway’s most daring photo spot. Nature’s perfect design, suspended high above the Lysefjord.
  • Lysefjord: A 42 km fjord surrounded by granite cliffs, deep waters, and small villages, with vertical rock faces dropping over 1000 metres into the sea.
  • Trolltunga: Iconic cliff jutting 700 metres above Lake Ringedalsvatnet, resembling a troll’s tongue. Offers phenomenal, vertigo-inducing views of surrounding fjords and mountains.
  • Hiking to Trolltunga: A scenic, challenging 10-12 hour hike through ancient routes across high mountain landscapes, rewarded with breathtaking views from Trolltunga’s dramatic ledge.
  • Buarbreen Glacier Hike: Stunning glacier hike in Hardangerfjord region, featuring shimmering blue ice, roaring waterfalls, and picturesque mountain scenery along the way.
  • Discovering Odda
  • Nestled between two national parks, Odda is Hardanger’s hidden gem with glaciers, fjords, and outdoor adventures, surrounded by stunning landscapes.
  • Tjørnadalsfossen: Spectacular multi-step waterfall plunging 515 meters, one of Norway’s tallest, cascading down rugged cliffs in distinct, separated tiers.
  • Låtefossen: Unique 165-meter twin waterfall dramatically merging beneath an old stone bridge, surrounded by picturesque Hardanger scenery—one of Norway’s most photogenic sights.

  • Community Guide & leader for the entire trip (Speaks English, Russian & German).
