About this tour
Chase the Northern Lights on an epic Arctic road trip from Santa’s Village in Finland to Norway’s North Cape— the edge of mainland Europe.
🌍Why Go?
The Ultimate Arctic Road Trip from Santa’s Village to the Edge of Europe
Step into a real-life winter fairytale on a multi-country Arctic road trip that begins in the magical holiday heartland of Finnish Lapland and leads you to the northernmost edge of continental Europe.
- Where Holiday Magic Begins (Rovaniemi & Santa Claus Village): Start your journey by crossing the Arctic Circle at Rovaniemi—the official home of Santa Claus. Immerse yourself in festive winter markets, send postcards with Santa’s official Arctic postmark, and experience the magical atmosphere where Christmas comes alive year-round.
- Exploring the Lapland Wilderness: Venture deeper into Finnish Lapland to embrace the authentic Arctic spirit. Glide through snow-draped forests on a husky sled, race across frozen trails by snowmobile, and visit local Sámi reindeer farms to discover living Indigenous traditions, ancient storytelling, and local handicrafts.
- An Epic Road Trip to Nordkapp (Where Europe Ends): Embark on a dramatic drive from the snowy pine forests of Finland across frozen frontiers into Norway, heading all the way to North Cape (Nordkapp). Standing on a dramatic 307-meter high cliff rising sheer out of the icy Arctic Ocean, this is the symbolic end of mainland Europe—a bucket-list destination where nothing lies between you and the North Pole except frozen waters.
- The Celestial Dance of Guovssahas: With long, dark polar nights providing ideal viewing conditions, experience the magic of the Northern Lights painting the Arctic sky. A spectacle as old as Earth’s atmosphere, the Aurora Borealis appears in 30,000-year-old cave paintings, features on Sámi shamanistic drums as Guovssahas (“the light that can be heard”), and was revered in Viking lore as the flickering armor of the Valkyrie warriors.
🌟What are some of the Highlights?

Guaranteed Northern Lights sighting, else join us for free (excluding flights) in another Northern lights trip.
- Road trip from Finland to Northcape (Nordkapp): A journey to the Northernmost point of Europe will let you discover unique landscapes. On our way, you may encounter Reindeers & explore the colourful villages. On this trip, you enjoy breathtaking scenery and take a picture or a selfie at the cliffs and the iconic globe sculpture rising on top. Once you’ve experienced the North Cape, you will know why it is one of the absolute highlights on a trip to Norway.
- Northcape Visitor Centre and Museum: Learn more about the early expeditions to North Cape and watch a panoramic film that takes you through four seasons. The visitor centre at the top level offers amazing views of the mountain plateau and endless blue Barents Sea.
- Rovaniemi & Santa Claus Village Magic: Cross the Arctic Circle into a storybook winter world to visit Santa’s official office, send postmarked mail from the Arctic Post Office, and explore festive, illuminated holiday markets.
- Exhilarating Wilderness Adventures (from Late November – March): Speed across snow-draped pine forests on a snowmobile and glide through tranquil, white-blanketed trails on a musher-led husky sled.

🌌Fun & Quirky Facts About Lapland (Finland & Norway)
- Reindeer Outnumber Humans: In Finnish Lapland, there are roughly 200,000 reindeer but only about 180,000 human residents. Furthermore, every single reindeer in Finnish Lapland is semi-domesticated and belongs to an earmorph-registered owner!
- Rovaniemi is Shaped Like a Reindeer: After Rovaniemi was largely destroyed during World War II, famed architect Alvar Aalto redesigned the city layout from above to resemble the head of a reindeer, with the local stadium as the eye and roads forming the branching antlers.
- Sámi Culture Recognizes 8 Seasons: Rather than the usual four, the Indigenous Sámi people divide the year into 8 distinct micro-seasons (e.g., Spring-Winter, Autumn-Summer) that strictly track reindeer herding cycles, ice conditions, and sunlight shifts.
- “The Light That Can Be Heard”: The Sámi name for the Northern Lights is Guovssahas. Ancient folklore believed the lights crackled with energy as they danced, giving rise to the tradition of speaking quietly under the aurora so as not to provoke them.
- North Cape’s Globe Marks the Edge of Europe: Norway’s Nordkapp sits atop a sheer 307-meter ocean cliff. From its iconic steel globe, there is no solid land between you and the North Pole—just open Arctic ocean.
