Join Urbanature Travel for a festive day trip to Dresden, a city known for having some of the most Christmas markets in Europe. We will tour the historic city centre, visit the main attractions and learn about the cultural landmarks that make Dresden one of Germany’s most beautiful cities.

Walking around 5 km through the old town, we will see the city’s castles, palaces, cobbled streets and ancient market squares, and even visit the famous Frauenkirche.

Along the way we will sample local food and enjoy plenty of mulled wine, before finishing the day at the historic Dresdner Striezelmarkt, one of the most famous Christmas markets in the whole country.

Dresden is famous for its many Christmas markets. We will hop between five of them as we explore the city, each with its own atmosphere, stalls and seasonal treats.

✨ Dresdner Striezelmarkt

Our day concludes at the Striezelmarkt, considered to be the oldest Christmas market in Germany. It is home to the world’s tallest Ore Mountain step pyramid and hosts a daily programme of cultural Christmas events for young and old.

⛪ The Frauenkirche

Visit Dresden’s most iconic church, the symbol of the city’s rebirth and the centrepiece of the Neumarkt square.

🏰 Castles, Palaces & Cobbled Streets

Explore the historic old town on foot, taking in its grand palaces, royal residences, cobbled lanes and ancient market squares.

🍷 Mulled Wine & Local Treats

Sample Saxon specialities and warm up with Glühwein as we move between markets.

December in Dresden is cold, and we will spend most of the day outdoors, including after dark.

🚆How to get to Berlin Ostkreuz?

We will meet at Berlin Ostkreuz at 8:00 AM and travel together to Dresden, arriving to begin our walk at around 10:00 AM.

We expect to arrive back in Berlin at approximately 8:00 PM.
