Hey everyone! I’m so excited to welcome you to my backyard this summer and show you the true heart of Switzerland. Forget the standard postcard views—I’m taking you deeper into the region to experience the Swiss Alps the way we locals actually live and breathe them.

By day, we’ll hit my favorite scenic ridges, wander through quiet, charming villages, and stop by traditional alpine farms that most tourists completely miss. By evening, I’ll introduce you to real-deal Swiss comfort food, share a bit of our local culture, and we’ll kick back for some unforgettable group hangs under the stars.

We’re talking crystal-clear alpine lakes, dramatic peaks, and flower-filled meadows, connected by epic cable car rides and the kind of summer sunsets you have to see to believe.

Central Switzerland in the summer is pure magic. Hiking around Engelberg and our surrounding valleys means crisp mountain air, peaceful landscapes, and authentic culture.

I’ve designed this route to take you beyond the usual paths around Engelberg and into the wider, hidden corners of Central Switzerland. Along the way, I’ve packed in a few of my favorite small surprises and hidden gems that you won’t find in any guidebook.

Picture this: we’ll be walking through lush alpine pastures with the soundtrack of cowbells echoing through the valleys, chilling beside turquoise lakes framed by snow-capped peaks, and sitting down together after a rewarding day on the trails to share a traditional Swiss meal.

📅Trip Details

📍 Start & End Date: Wednesday, 12 August – Monday, 17 August 2026.

📍 Meeting Location & Time: Meet directly at the accommodation in Engelberg anytime until latest 7 PM on Wednesday.

Note: Exact accommodation details and meeting instructions will be shared with confirmed participants closer to the trip date.

📍 Finishing Location & Time: Engelberg Train Station at approximately 9 AM on Monday.

Note: If you are arriving earlier or later or have special request, please do let us know and we can make relevant arrangements from our end.

🥾 Hiking Distance:

• Day 0: Travel day from Zurich to Engelberg.
• Day 1: Brunni & Härzlisee Panorama Trails(🥾 Distance: 6–9 km ⛰ Elevation: +250m / -250m).
• Day 2: Four Lakes Hike – 4-Seen-Wanderung(🥾 Distance: 14–17 km ⛰ Elevation: +600m / -800m).
• Day 3: Fürenalp – End of the World Trail(🥾 Distance: 9–10 km ⛰ Elevation: +800m / -800m).
• Day 4: Lake Day & Relaxed Exploration(🥾 Distance: 4–5 km ⛰ Mostly flat & relaxed).

🥾 Hiking Difficulty: Intermediate – Hiking at a relaxed pace on well-marked alpine paths with moderate elevation and good fitness required.

• ✈By Flight: Flying is the easiest and fastest option to reach Zurich or Basel Airport, with direct flights available from most major European cities.
• 🚆By Train: Switzerland / Engelberg is also very well connected by international trains from neighboring European countries.

What is Next?

• WhatsApp Group: You will be added to a WhatsApp group dedicated to this event. This group is where you can connect with trip mates, coordinate arrival options and stay in touch.
• Trip Briefing: You will find a link in the WhatsApp group description to a detailed trip briefing document providing details on what to expect, how to prepare etc.
• Trip Info Session: Closer to the trip date, the guide will organize a group video call (Using WhatsApp or Google Meet) where the guide will go through the trip briefing document and also answer any queries / concerns that you may have regarding the trip.
• Google Photos Album: You will find a link in the WhatsApp group description to the shared Google photos album where you can upload and view all shared photos and videos from the trip.

• Right to Modify: Urbanature Travel (UNT) reserves the right to cancel the trip, modify routes, change accommodations, or reschedule hikes and activities if necessary, even without prior notice.
• Participant Conduct & Fitness: UNT guides reserve the right to remove a participant from the trip if their behavior is disruptive, unsafe, or if they are deemed unfit for the specific activities involved.
• Personal Responsibility: UNT is not responsible for any loss, theft, damage, illness, accident, or personal injury that may occur during the trip.

Niki here and I will be guiding you on this amazing trip. Growing up in the beautiful region of Central Switzerland (Zentralschweiz), I developed a deep connection to the mountains, lakes, and traditions that make this country so special. Nature has always been a huge part of my life, and I’m passionate about exploring hidden trails, alpine landscapes, and authentic local culture.

As a local guide, I love sharing Switzerland’s breathtaking scenery, stories, and traditions with people from around the world. I’m also a very creative person and express myself through art, sound healing, and mindful living. Mindfulness and connecting deeply with nature are important values in my life, and I want to share that energy and inspiration with the world. As someone who also loves traveling, I truly value meaningful connections, cultural exchange, and unforgettable adventures.
