Colonial cities, a volcano-ringed lake, the most colourful market in the Americas and the towering temples of Tikal — the very best of Guatemala in one compact, guided journey, in a small group of like-minded travellers.
The Heart of the Mayan World
In six days you’ll wander the cobblestone streets of Antigua, a UNESCO-listed colonial gem framed by three volcanoes; cross Lake Atitlán by boat to the Maya-Tzutuhil villages of Santiago Atitlán and San Juan La Laguna; haggle in the legendary Chichicastenango market; and stand beneath the great pyramids of Tikal, the largest and most monumental city of the ancient Maya world.
It’s a classic Guatemala circuit, guided and organised end to end, so all you have to do is turn up and soak it in. Most of our travellers come on their own, so you’ll have friends from day one.
📅 Start & End: Based on your preferred dates — this is a flexible, price-on-request trip we run for private groups and on request.
📍 Start & Finish: Guatemala City (La Aurora International Airport, GUA).
🏨 Duration: 6 days / 5 nights — 1 night Antigua, 2 nights Lake Atitlán, 2 nights Guatemala City.
🚐 Getting around: Private ground transport with a guide, public boat on Lake Atitlán, and the internal return flight to Flores for Tikal.
🍳 Meals: Daily breakfast and one lunch (at Tikal) included; other meals left free so you can explore Guatemala’s food at your own pace.
✈️ Flights: International flights not included, as travellers join from all over Europe — ask us for a flight-inclusive quote and we’ll help.
Have longer to explore? We also offer extended 10–14 day journeys on request, adding highlights such as the Mayan ruins of Copán (just over the border in Honduras) and Quiriguá, the Caribbean Garífuna town of Livingston and a boat trip up the Río Dulce, the jungle temples of Yaxhá, and the turquoise pools of Semuc Champey and the Candelaria Caves.
Because every trip is tailored, we’re happy to build a longer version around your interests and pace. 💬 Just send us an enquiry with your preferred length and we’ll share the options.
